Art Donation Deadline Extended for SCRMC's Art of Healing

South Central Health Care Foundation has extended the deadline for art submissions.

South Central Regional Medical Center would like to invite you to participate and attend the 5th Annual Art of Healing Auction and Exhibition on March 23 held at the Sanderson Farms’ Corporate Headquarters in Laurel. The evening features a silent and live auction, music, wonderful food, and beverages.

This event is an open auction and exhibition that invites professional and amateur artists in the surrounding area to donate original or purchased art in hopes of raising money to offer free community health screenings to the community, as well as community health education and outreach programs. The exhibition is intended to bring hope, healing and awareness to the community through the creation and appreciation of art.

Approximately 350 people attended the event last year, where we proudly featured over 200 pieces of locally donated artwork.  More than $24,000 was raised, with proceeds going to fund our community health initiatives.  This event offers everyone who has been touched by an illness, either in our community or the surrounding areas, the chance to experience healing through art.

The deadline for submitting artwork is Feb. 28.  All artists are asked to complete a submission form which can be downloaded by clicking Art of Healing Artist Submission Form. The submission form includes a section for a brief statement describing the piece and a note about the individual who you created the piece “in honor of” or “in memory of”. All contributions to the Art of Healing are tax-deductible (if applicable). Feel free to also include several of your business cards or brochures with the piece. These will be placed beside your artwork for those who would like to purchase additional art from you.

Spreading the word to artists in our community is essential to our auction and with the deadline for art submissions on Feb. 28.  Also, feel free to share information about this event with other artists you may know. If you would like more detailed information about the Art of Healing, please visit our website at scrmc.com; or contact Becky Collins at 601.399.0503 or by email at bcollins@scrmc.com

The South Central Health Care Foundation appreciates your support in bringing this event to our community to help raise awareness for the importance of health screenings, and community education programs. It is nice to know that the contribution you make will help save lives.
